In Wednesday’s (1/12) Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Bill Vidonic reports, “Heinz Hall will close for more than two months this summer for renovations, the Downtown venue’s manager said this morning. Most of the work to take place between June 27 and Sept. 2 will occur on the roof of the building, said Carl Mancuso. Some interior renovations, including installation of new rigging and a sound system, also will be done. Mancuso said the Pittsburgh Symphony has planned for the work for several years, and was able to clear a window in the performance schedule to allow the work to proceed. The symphony will perform in other venues throughout the region while the work is being done, Mancuso said, and will find other rehearsal space.”
