The New York Philharmonic will offer a preview of its digital archives this afternoon (2/3), which will be webcast live from the Jerome L. Greene Performance Space at radio station WQXR in New York City. Music Director Alan Gilbert and others will reveal details of the recently digitized archives, as part of the announcement of the Philharmonic’s 2011-12 season; both can be viewed live at 3 p.m. ET at http://nyphil.org/concertsticks/webcast.cfm. The Philharmonic’s archives include correspondence, business records, orchestral scores and parts, photographs, concert programs, newspaper clippings, and more than 7,000 hours of concert and broadcast recordings that date from the 1920s.
