An article Monday (2/14) on The Flash List, an online entertainment guide for the greater Dallas area, states, “Fashion has been intertwined with music for decades, even centuries. … Working together to showcase the current interplay between this millennium’s styles and accompanying classical music selections, Jan Strimple (international runway model, now Dallas area executive fashion event producer) teamed up with the Irving Symphony Orchestra for an evening of chamber orchestrations along with a unique runway presentation. Declaring themselves ‘a different symphony for a different audience’, The ISO is a distinctive professional boutique [orchestra] known for producing signature music experiences which they indeed exhibited on Saturday night at SMU when beautifully poised, young models from The Campbell Agency of Dallas took to the platform stage draped in garments from Saks Fifth Avenue for a visual demonstration of the way that one art form can affect another. … Maestro Hector Guzman seemed to be having as much fun as we were as he led the orchestra in joyous, whimsical selections including Serenade for Strings and Ma M’ere L’Oye (Mother Goose).”
