The Holland Symphony Orchestra, based in western Michigan, will host the six-day Michigan Conducting Institute from June 6 to 11, 2011. The workshop, directed by Johannes Müller-Stosch, the orchestra’s music director, will include seminars and conducting sessions; each participating conductor will get two 25-minute sessions with the Holland Symphony Orchestra. Repertoire for the workshop will include Mozart’s Overture to Die Zauberflöte; Haydn’s Symphony No. 104; Beethoven’s Symphony Nos. 1, 3, and 5; and Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 5.
