American Public Media, based in St. Paul, Minn., has announced the appointment of ALISON YOUNG as host of its weekly radio program SymphonyCast. She succeeds BRIAN NEWHOUSE, who was recently named managing director of classical programming at American Public Media. Young is also host of The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra’s Minnesota Public Radio broadcasts and American Public Media’s annual St. Olaf Christmas Festival. Before beginning her radio career she was a concert flutist. Young is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a master’s from the Cleveland Institute of Music.
