The ASCAP Foundation has announced recipients of the 2011 ASCAP Foundation Morton Gould Young Composer Awards for composers up to 30 years of age. The composers, whose works were selected through a juried national competition, are Timothy Andres, Kit Armstrong, Jeremy Howard Beck, David Biedenbender, Yuri Boguinia, Christopher Cerrone, Anthony Cheung , Sean Friar, David Fulmer, Ryan Gallagher, Peng-Peng Gong, Eric Guinivan, Takuma Itoh, Paul Kerekes, Adrian Knight, Hannah Lash, Jesse Limbacher, Wei-Cheih Lin, Lev Marquis, Eric Nathan, and Gity Razaz. An additional nine composers ages 10 to 18 also were named winners. The award-winning composers share cash prizes of approximately $45,000 and will be recognized at the ASCAP Concert Music Awards at Merkin Concert Hall in New York City on May 24.
