The Idaho Falls Symphony Orchestra in southeast Idaho has announced the appointment of THOMAS HEUSER as music director; he will open the orchestra’s 62nd season with a free concert in Freeman Park on September 10, 2011. For the past year Heuser has served as resident conductor of the Hochschule Symphonie Orchester in Munich, Germany. During the 2009-10 season he was a conducting fellow and cover conductor at the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. Heuser is a graduate of Vassar College and holds a master’s degree in instrumental conducting from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in orchestral conducting from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
