The Quad City Symphony Orchestra, based in Davenport, Iowa, has announced the renewal of MARK RUSSELL SMITH’s contract as music director through the orchestra’s 100th anniversary season, 2014-15. He has led the orchestra since 2008. Previous posts include music directorships at the Cheyenne (Wyo.) Symphony Orchestra (1992-99), the Springfield (Mass.) Symphony Orchestra (1995-2000), and the Richmond (Va.) Symphony Orchestra (1999-2009).
