MARC MAYER, a partner and Chief Executive Officer of GMO LLC, has been elected chairman of the Board of Trustees of New York City’s Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. Before joining GMO in 2009 he spent 20 years at AllianceBernstein L.P and its predecessor firm, Sanford C. Bernstein & Co., and also worked in strategic planning and marketing at Squibb Corporation (now Bristol-Myers Squibb). Mayer holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Yale University and an MBA from Columbia University. Prior to attending business school he worked as a concert and record producer.
