Mary McFadden Lawson, the North Carolina Symphony’s vice president of philanthropy, has been selected as a member of the 2011 class of Triangle Business Journal’s 40 Under 40, which recognizes contributions of professionals from North Carolina’s Research Triangle area under age 40. Beginning in 2009 Lawson spearheaded a campaign to meet a $1.5 million challenge grant from the state of North Carolina by raising $8 million in community support for the orchestra. Lawson and the other honorees were recognized at a May 5 luncheon, with North Carolina Symphony Interim President and CEO Don Davis in attendance. “We couldn’t be happier to have Mary Mc representing the North Carolina Symphony,” Davis said at the ceremony. “She is an invaluable asset to the Symphony and this is a well-deserved success.” The 40 Under 40 winners will be profiled in the May 20 edition of Triangle Business Journal.
