JACK EVERLY has signed a contract extending his tenure as principal pops conductor of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra through the 2016-17 season. He has held the post since 2002. Everly’s association with the ISO began in 1999 when he became music director of the orchestra’s Symphonic Pops Consortium project, which he launched to create innovative thematic pops programming featuring original orchestral charts and theatrical enhancements such as lavish costumes and lighting effects. Everly is also principal pops conductor of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra; the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa, Canada; and the Naples (Fla.) Philharmonic.
