In Friday’s (6/10) Ledger-Enquirer (Columbus, Georgia), Sandra Okamoto reports, “The Columbus Symphony Orchestra announced that Sara Ketcham has accepted the position of executive director and will begin her duties on July 3. Ketcham, who celebrates her 33rd birthday Saturday, is currently the Springer Opera House’s director of development. She’s looking forward to working with George Del Gobbo, the conductor and music director, who will start his 25th season with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra this fall. Del Gobbo said the two of them have met several times to plan strategies for coming seasons. … JJ Musgrove, who gave up the position a month ago for a new job at the Community Foundation of the Chattahoochee Valley, said Ketcham is right for the job. ‘Sara has an extremely engaging personality and people will connect with her on a very personal level,’ he said. ‘I think she’ll be highly successful in that position.’ ”
