The Santa Rosa Symphony in California has appointed DAWN DOVER director of its Young People’s Chamber Orchestra, effective in July. A graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara, Dover has performed as an orchestral violinist and chamber musician throughout Europe, the U.S., and Japan. For five seasons she was first violinist of the Carmel (Calif.) Bach Festival Quartet. An original member of San Francisco’s New Century Chamber Orchestra, she has played in the San Francisco and Santa Barbara symphonies as well as the San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Sonora chamber orchestras. Dover maintains a private teaching studio in Windsor, Calif., and has taught chamber music at Santa Rosa Junior College and the Marin (Calif.) Youth Orchestra. She was also recently named orchestra conductor at Credo High School, a charter school in Rohnert Park, Calif.
