The Detroit Symphony Orchestra and Music Director Leonard Slatkin have announced the appointment of KIMBERLY ANN KALOYANIDES KENNEDY as acting concertmaster for the 2011-12 season. A native of Dayton, Ohio, she has been a member of the Detroit Symphony’s violin section since 1998 and has served as associate concertmaster since 2003. Prior to joining the DSO she pursued studies at Brevard Music Center, Interlochen Arts Camp, the Sarasota and Aspen music festivals, the Harid Conservatory in Boca Raton, Fla., and finally at the University of Michigan.
