The Cape Cod Symphony and Conservatory of Music and Arts (Yarmouth Port, Mass.) has announced the appointment of JOAN LANDRY as associate conductor of the orchestra and music director of the organizations’s Youth Ensemble, effective July 1, 2011. She served most recently as assistant conductor of the North Carolina Symphony, and had previously spent three seasons as associate conductor of the Honolulu Symphony, where she designed and conducted education concerts for more than 100,000 students on the island of Oahu. Landry holds a bachelor’s degree from New England Conservatory, and both a master’s degree and an artist diploma in orchestral conducting from The Hartt School of the University of Hartford in Connecticut.
