The Orchestre de la Suisse Romande Foundation (Geneva, Switzerland) has appointed MIGUEL ESTEBAN managing director of the orchestra. He will begin work with the foundation on January 1, 2012 and assume his duties with the orchestra on July 1, 2012. He is a co-founder of Switzerland’s Verbier Festival and its orchestra, and has worked most recently for a major financial institution handling the affairs of classical musicians. Of Cuban descent, Esteban was born in Los Angeles and moved to Geneva in 1987. He holds a bachelor’s degree in vocal performance from the University of Southern California and a diploma in voice from the Geneva Conservatory of Music.
