France’s Orchestre de Bretagne has announced the appointment of MARC FELDMAN as general manager, effective October 1. He served most recently as executive director of the Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra in California. Prior orchestral experience includes posts as executive director of the Orchestra for Peace, an ensemble comprising Israeli and Arab musicians (2003-05), and as musical assistant to the artistic director of the Banff Center for the Performing Arts in Alberta, Canada (1998-2000). A 2006 graduate of the Orchestra Management Fellowship Program administered by the League of American Orchestras, Feldman studied bassoon at Mannes College The New School for Music in New York City; as a Fellow at Tanglewood Music Center; and at the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris, where he received diplomas in music education and performance. He has performed with numerous ensembles in the U.S. and Europe and produced concerts for the Association Grand Ecart, which he founded in 1988 as a collaborative enterprise embracing music, theater, dance, and circus arts.
