In Wednesday’s (7/20) York Dispatch (Pennsylvania), Andrew Shaw reports, “The Strand-Capitol [Performing Arts Center] and York Symphony will begin collaborating on clerical and administrative duties in a month. The new agreement coincides with the retirement of Henry Nixon on Aug. 31 after 13 years as the symphony’s executive director. Strand-Capitol president and CEO Ken Wesler will assume Nixon’s role, overseeing both operations, according to Nixon. Nixon said the two groups had already shared many functions, since the symphony calls the York City-based Strand-Capitol its home. … Wesler was not immediately available for comment. Artistic direction and fundraising decisions are still going to be assigned to the symphony’s board of directors and the artistic director, Nixon said. No jobs are being eliminated, he added.”
