The Portland Symphony Orchestra in Maine has announced the election of DEBORAH F. HAMMOND as president of its Board of Trustees. She has been a member of the board since 2008, and served previously as a trustee from 1976 to 1981. Hammond was president of the PSO Women’s Committee from 1979 to 1981, and spent eighteen years as the orchestra’s director of marketing and development before retiring from the administrative staff in 2002. Also announced by the PSO were the appointments of SUE BURDSALL as administrative assistant and MARJORIE GALLANT as marketing coordinator.
