DORIS J. NIPPS has been elected president of the Maryland Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors. Currently executive director of the PenMar Development Corporation, she has served on numerous civic, educational, arts, and charitable boards including the Washington County (Md.) Board of Education, the Legislative Committee of the Maryland Association of Boards of Education, the Maryland Theatre, the Washington County Humane Society, the Washington County Commission for Women, Habitat for Humanity, and the Washington County Board of County Commissioners.
