An unsigned article posted on Tuesday (8/9) on the hometownlife.com website of The Observer and Eccentric (Michigan) reports, “Dana Gill has been named the new executive director of the Birmingham-Bloomfield Symphony Orchestra. The position is made possible through the arts management collaboration between the BBSO and Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings. Along with her new position, Gill will serve as director of client relations for DCWS, where she will act as the lead staff liaison for multiple client organizations with which DCWS maintains contractual relationships as part of its arts management business. In her new role, Gill will also serve as the executive director for Motor City Brass Band and Pro Musica of Detroit, Inc. ‘The BBSO is absolutely thrilled to have Dana join us. Her ability to transition as quickly as she has is beyond expectations,’ BBSO Chairman Richard Tropea said. ‘Her previous job as a lobbyist in Lansing is perfect.’…  Gill brings with her eight years of management, legislative policy and advocacy experience.” Birmingham-Bloomfield Symphony Orchestra, a community ensemble founded in 1975, is led by conductor Charles Greenwell and “is committed to bringing exceptional classical and pops concerts at affordable prices and ‘engaging our community in harmony.’ “
