A report Thursday (8/25) on Rochester, New York cable news channel YNN’s website states, “Binghamton will soon have a new concert lineup to add to their Friday night activities downtown. Officials announced the details of what they are calling ‘Casual Concerts on the River.’ The concerts will take place the first four Fridays in September. The effort is in partnership with the Binghamton Philharmonic. The concerts will feature a wide array of music from performances from members of the philharmonic to student groups from Binghamton University. Officials say it is a great way to bring people downtown. ‘It is all around just an effort to bring more attention to this part of the city and also to highlight the stage here in the riverwalk as just a great place to perform music,’ said Binghamton Philharmonic Executive Director Stephen Wilson. All of the concerts are free and they will take place at the Peacemakers Stage just north of the Court Street bridge.”
