We Are The Knights, a new documentary about The Knights, the New York City-based chamber ensemble that is the brainchild of brothers Eric and Colin Jacobsen, will air on PBS’s WNET/Thirteen on September 8 at 8:30 p.m. The 30-minute program, hosted by Paul Zahn, includes scenes of the group rehearsing works by Beethoven, Schubert, Mozart, Copland, and Jimi Hendrix, plus interviews with Yo-Yo Ma, Performance Today host Fred Childs, members of the orchestra, and both Jacobsen brothers and their father. Following the broadcast, the full documentary and bonus material will be available at http://www.thirteen.org/we-are-the-knights/. The Knights’ stated mission is to expand the orchestral concert experience with diverse programming and innovative formats; for more information, visit The Knights website. Eric and Colin Jacobsen wrote an article about founding The Knights for the July-August issue of Symphony.
