JERRY STEICHEN has been named principal pops conductor of the New Haven (Conn.) Symphony Orchestra after fifteen years as its associate conductor. He has guest conducted such orchestras as the Boston Pops and the New York Pops and has led programs of American music abroad. On September 24 and 25 Steichen will conduct the NHSO in a pops program called Broadway Bound: from Oklahoma! to Rent.
