SILAS HUFF, music director of the Round Rock (Tex.) Symphony and the Astoria Symphony Orchestra in New York City, has been awarded a U.S. Army commission and will assume duties as executive officer and associate conductor of the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Band at Fort Eustis in Newport News, Va. He will retain his posts at the Round Rock and Astoria symphony orchestras.
