Members will be interested to read a new report on participatory arts, prepared by WolfBrown for The James Irvine Foundation.

Getting In On the Act: How arts groups are creating opportunities for active participation draws insight from more than 100 nonprofit arts groups, including five League members, and other experts in the field. It presents a new model for understanding different levels of arts engagement, offers considerations and describes challenges for nonprofits interested or already involved in this area of programming.  Throughout, the report makes use of real-world examples of active arts in practice. Arts participation is being redefined as people increasingly choose to engage with art in new, more active and expressive ways. This carries profound implications and fresh opportunities for the nonprofit arts sector. You can find the report at www.irvine.org/active.
