At the Philadelphia Orchestra, CRAIG HAMILTON has been appointed to the newly created post of vice president for global initiatives and government relations. LINDA MILLER has been named senior director, development services, and DORIS PARENT senior director, corporate and foundation relations. Hamilton first joined the orchestra in 2004 as director of development. He had previously served as vice president and general manager of Peter Nero and the Philly Pops and, before that, as executive director of development for the Philadelphia public broadcasting entity WHYY. Hamilton holds a degree in journalism, public relations from Temple University. Miller, most recently manager of membership systems at WHYY, is a graduate of Rutgers University with a degree in sociology. Parent comes to Philadelphia after many years at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C, where she was most recently associate director, corporate and foundation relations. Both Miller and Parent will report directly to Marilyn Lucas, the Philadelphia Orchestra’s vice president for development.
