Oteri reports, “Schott Music Corporation and European American Music Distributors, LLC have announced the launch of Project Schott New York (PSNY), a digital music publishing platform which aims to facilitate the discovery, purchase, and discussion of new music online. The site, which went live yesterday, already contains a selection of works by a total of 35 living composers—most of whom are based in the United States. Although some of these composers … have been on the roster of Schott/European American, others featured on PSNY …have relationships with other publishing firms and most are currently self-published … Each of the composers included have their own index page on the site which contains a photo, a biography and outside links to other sites for their music, in addition to specific inner links to the works of theirs which are available on PSNY. The more than 70 pieces on the site thus far range from solo to chamber ensemble works and chronologically span five decades … according to the press release issued today, there will soon additionally be videos, reviews, audience generated comments, weekly repertoire and performance highlights, plus blog posts with targeted suggestions for programmers, producers and performers.”
