The Wichita Symphony has announced the appointment of DONALD REINHOLD as executive director, effective January 3, 2012. He served most recently as executive director of the Fresno Philharmonic in California. Prior to assuming that post in 2005 Reinhold was executive director of the Grand Teton Music Festival (Jackson Hole, Wyo.). He had earlier spent fourteen years at the University of Maryland in College Park, where he created and managed a summer training program, the National Orchestral Institute, and held various university positions including assistant director of the School of Music. Reinhold earned a bachelor’s degree in music from Bucknell University and a master’s in music history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He also pursued doctoral studies in piano at the University of Maryland-College Park and received further training in piano at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria.
