GEORGE MABRY, director of the Nashville Symphony Chorus since 1998, will retire from that post December 31, 2011. He is professor emeritus of music at Austin Peay State University (Clarksville, Tenn.), where he served as director of choral activities and also directed the school’s Center for the Creative Arts until his retirement in 2003. The Nashville Symphony has appointed DOUGLAS ROSE, professor of music and department chair at Austin Peay State University, as interim chorus director pending the selection of a permanent successor to Mabry.
