The National Endowment for the Arts will air a free, live webinar on November 30 from 10 to 11 a.m. (EST) to discuss a newly established federal Interagency Research Task Force on the Arts and Human Development. The task force comes out of recommendations following the NEA’s day-long research summit earlier this year exploring the role of the arts and human development across the life span. The November 30 webinar will feature representatives from more than a dozen federal agencies. Sunil Iyengar, the NEA’s director of research and analysis, will moderate the webinar, whose guests and speakers will include NEA Chairman Rocco Landesman; a representative from the U.S. Department of Education; Kathy Greenlee, Assistant Secretary for Aging, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; and Kathy Mann Koepke, director of the National Institute of Child Health & Development’s Mathematics and Science Cognition and Learning, Development and Disorders Program, Childhood Development and Behavior Branch. To access the webinar go to http://artsgov.adobeconnect.com/taskforce/, check the “enter as guest” button, type your name, and click “enter room”; the webinar can also be heard by calling 1-877-685-5350 and using participant code 942738. An archive of the webinar will be available beginning on December 1 here, and a copy of the task-force recommendations will be available here beginning on November 30.
