The National Endowment for the Arts will air a free, live webinar on November 30 from 10 to 11 a.m. (EST) to discuss a newly established federal Interagency Research Task Force on the Arts and Human Development. The task force comes out of recommendations following the NEA’s day-long research summit earlier this year exploring the role of the arts and human development across the life span. The November 30 webinar will feature representatives from more than a dozen federal agencies. Sunil Iyengar, the NEA’s director of research and analysis, will moderate the webinar, whose guests and speakers will include NEA Chairman Rocco Landesman; a representative from the U.S. Department of Education; Kathy Greenlee, Assistant Secretary for Aging, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; and Kathy Mann Koepke, director of the National Institute of Child Health & Development’s Mathematics and Science Cognition and Learning, Development and Disorders Program, Childhood Development and Behavior Branch. To access the webinar go to, check the “enter as guest” button, type your name, and click “enter room”; the webinar can also be heard by calling 1-877-685-5350 and using participant code 942738. An archive of the webinar will be available beginning on December 1 here, and a copy of the task-force recommendations will be available here beginning on November 30.
