The deadline is January 10, 2012 to apply for the Nestlé and Salzburg Festival Young Conductors Award for conductors between ages 21 and 35. The winner of the award, now in its third year, will receive a prize of 15,000 euros; conduct the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra at the Salzburg Festival in August 2012; and be featured on a live CD of the Salzburg Festival. The first award in 2010 went to German conductor David Afkham; the second in 2011 went to Latvian conductor Ainars Rubikis.
