We’re pleased to announce the beginning of Orchestras Feeding American 2012. Now in its fourth year, we’ve seen more than 250 orchestras in all 50 states collect over 350,000 pounds of food for their communities.   The efforts of these orchestras has helped spread the word about how and why orchestras are so necessary to their communities, beyond providing amazing music. Many participating orchestras have forged year-round partnerships with their local food banks by playing music at the local agency, offering added exposure to the problem of hunger at concerts, and most importantly,  becoming a regular source of much needed food.
