The Peninsula Music Festival (Ephraim, Wis.) has announced the appointment of IGOR YUZEFOVICH as concertmaster, effective with the start of its 60th anniversary season in August 2012. He is currently concertmaster of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra; previous posts include assistant concertmaster, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and concertmaster, Lancaster (Pa.) Symphony Orchestra. Yuzefovich received early violin training at the Gnessin Music School in his native Moscow. Since 1991 he has resided in the U.S., where he furthered his studies at Baltimore’s Peabody Conservatory of Music. Winner of numerous competitions and an active teacher and guest concertmaster, he has performed in venues ranging from Carnegie Hall to the Cairo Opera House and concert halls in Asia and the Southern Hemisphere. He was a co-founder, in 2004, of the Monument Piano Trio, which released its debut recording in November 2011.
