The deadline is January 15 for submitting applications to the 2012 Young Artist Concerto Competition of the Paducah Symphony Orchestra, based in Kentucky. Musicians in grades 9 through 12 may audition in either the piano or instrumental division; competition finalists will perform on February 19, 2012 at Murray State University. The winner in each category will receive a $1,000 prize; an invitation to perform during a 2012-13 season concert of the Paducah Symphony; and, if eligible, a music scholarship to Murray State University.
