The New Haven Symphony Orchestra has formed a partnership with Discount Power, Inc., a low-cost electricity provider in deregulated electrical energy markets in Connecticut. When customers sign up for an account through the NHSO’s microsite, they will save up to 10 percent on their electric bill, and a portion of each kilowatt hour purchased will go to the NHSO. Executive Director Elaine C. Carroll said in a statement that the program will “generate ongoing revenue to support NHSO concerts and education programs.” Kristilee LaHayee, a broker manager at Discount Power, said, “We are excited by the opportunity to generate a stream of ongoing donations to an organization as extraordinary as the NHSO.”
