Culture Track 2011 is LaPlaca Cohen’s fifth installment of their ongoing national research study of the attitudes and behaviors of cultural audiences, examining trends in attendance at visual and performing arts events and the motivators and barriers that affect participation.

From the project’s inception, LaPlaca Cohen has sought to go a level deeper than other studies to gain a fuller understanding of how and what arts audiences are thinking. They want to know even more about motivations and the underlying reasons for people’s interaction or non-action with culture.

Their goal: to help our colleagues in the field better understand where the arts stand in people’s lives and how we can better inspire them to engage with the arts more often and in more meaningful ways.
