Administrative: Hartford Symphony

Connecticut’s Hartford Symphony Orchestra has appointed JEFFREY MARTIN director of community engagement and education. For the past six years he has been active as a music educator, most recently as chair of performing arts and dean of students at Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School, an independent boarding school in the Boston metro area. He has also composed choral works and has performed regularly with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus. Originally from Illinois, Martin studied vocal music, musicology, and educational leadership at Judson College (Elgin, Ill.), at Indiana University, and at the University of Cincinnati.
