Violinists Benjamin Beilman, Hyeyoon Park, and Alexandra Soumm have won the three London Music Masters awards for 2012-15. The awards are given every three years to violinists between the ages of 16 and 25, to further their careers. Each winner receives £10,000 and performs at London’s Wigmore Hall; the violinists also perform with the London Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall and at the Bowdoin International Music Festival in Maine; participate in LMM’s educational program, the Bridge Project, for school-age children; and perform commissioned works by contemporary composers. Beilman (21, U.S.) is winner of the 2010 Young Concert Artists International Auditions and the 2010 Montreal International Musical Competition; he studies with Ida Kavafian and Pamela Frank at the Curtis Institute of Music. Park (South Korea, 20), is winner of the 2009 ARD International Music Competition in Munich and of the 2011 Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award. Soumm (22, Russia) won the grand prize of the Vienna Conservatory Competition in 2002 and the 2004 Eurovision Competition for young musicians in Lucerne; she is currently a BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist.
