Monday’s (4/23) News-Leader (Springfield, Missouri) reports, “The Springfield Symphony Association recently announced that the board of directors approved Amy Muchnick as assistant conductor of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra for the 2012-13 season. As assistant conductor, Muchnick leads the organization’s education and outreach programs, including annual Young People’s Concerts for area fourth-grade students, and free, public matinees such as Spooky Symphony. Muchnick will also conduct the annual Home for the Holidays pops concert in December. Muchnick has a varied background as a violist, conductor and clinician, and has been part of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra since 1993.”
