Chicago’s Grant Park Music Festival has announced two additions to its orchestral roster for 2012. NATHAN MILLS, a graduate of The Juilliard School who is now pursuing a master’s degree from that institution, has been named principal oboe. Mills has performed at the Aspen Music Festival, at the Pacific Music Festival (Sapporo, Japan), and at California’s Music Academy of the West (Santa Barbara) and Festival Mozaic (San Luis Obispo). Joining the Grant Park Orchestra’s first violin section this summer is MEI-CHING HUANG. She is a current member of the San Diego Symphony and the San Diego Opera Orchestra, and has held concertmaster posts at the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra and the Pacific Music Festival. Huang has also performed with the New York Philharmonic and the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. She holds degrees from The Juilliard School and the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University.
