The Elgin (Ill.) Symphony Orchestra has announced the appointment of DAVID BEARDEN as interim CEO. His business background includes more than two decades at Panasonic Corporation, where he held numerous senior management positions including president and chief operating officer. From 2005 until his retirement in 2010 he was president and chief operating officer of Rex Stores, Inc., in Dayton, Ohio. He is a longtime supporter of the Elgin Symphony, where he served on the Board of Director from 1996 to 2000 and rejoined the board last fall. The ESO is conducting a national search for a permanent successor to DALE LONIS, who stepped down as CEO in February of this year but is continuing to advise the orchestra on artistic matters.
