A report in Monday’s (5/7) Star Press (Muncie, Indiana) states, “Muncie Symphony Orchestra artistic director and conductor Bohuslav Rattay has resigned. His last day will be June 30, according to MSO Board President Bob Darroca. He will be the music director for another MSO—Midland Symphony Orchestra in Midland, Mich. Rattay was conductor of [Muncie Symphony Orchestra] for six years. He will continue to conduct the Lake Charles Symphony Orchestra, Lake Charles, La. MSO will work with Ball State University to find a new conductor. Darroca expects the search for a replacement could take up to a year. In the meantime, guest conductors will fill in during MSO performances. A guest conductor already was slated to direct Picnic on the Green on June 9 as Rattay would be out of the country.”
