KATHLEEN BUTERA has been appointed executive director of Chicago Chamber Musicians, effective August 1, 2012. She has more than 25 years of experience in nonprofit arts management, having served as executive director of Chicago’s Music of the Baroque and Sherwood Conservatory of Music, and as a staff member with the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra and the Chicago, San Francisco, Pittsburgh, and San Diego symphonies. Butera holds bachelor’s and master’s degree in music education and is currently a faculty member in the Arts, Entertainment, and Media Management Department at Columbia College Chicago. She has consulted for such organizations as the National Endowment for the Arts, Chattanooga Symphony and Opera, Columbus (Ohio) Chamber Orchestra, the Society for Art in Crafts (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and the Symphony of the Americas (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.).
