The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra has announced that DAVID COUCHERON, its concertmaster since September 2010, was named recipient of The Mabel Dorn Reeder Honorary Chair at the orchestra’s annual meeting on May 14. The chair goes to an ASO musician who demonstrates excellence in musical artistry, leadership, collegiality, and community engagement. Holders of the chair are awarded a one-time $10,000 stipend at the start of their five-year term, to be utilized for professional development. First announced in January 2011, the chair was established with a $1.85 million endowment gift from the Mabel Dorn Reeder Foundation.
