For the 2012-13 academic year, The Juilliard School is launching Juilliard eLearning, an online program for K-12 students and educators. For Juilliard’s first-ever group of online courses, the school is partnering with Connections Education, an online learning solutions provider that is a division of the Pearson global education company. Among the first courses to be offered by Juilliard eLearning in 2012-13 are elementary, middle, and high school music courses aligned to U.S. national standards; the courses will be offered to the more than 40,000 K-12 students enrolled in Connections Education’s national network of virtual public schools. Courses will also be marketed to educational institutions and directly to K-12 and adult students. Additional courses in future years may include music theory, music history, drama history, and dance history. A public website for Juilliard eLearning will be announced at a later date.
