MICHAEL LANGHAM has been named director of the Carson Chamber Singers, an affiliate of the Carson City (Nev.) Symphony Association. The appointment takes effect at the start of the 2012-13 season. He succeeds JUDY MONSON, who founded the choral group and is stepping down in July after 27 years as its director. Langham has served as accompanist and coach for the Carson Chamber Singers, and plays harp and piano with the Carson City Symphony. He is also director of music, choirmaster, and organist at Trinity Episcopal Church in Reno and a founding member of Quintessence, The Carson City Harp Ensemble. Langham holds degrees in education and accounting from Marshall University (Huntington, W. Va.), where he also studied piano, organ, voice, and harp. He earned a master’s degree in church music, with a specialty in choral conducting and harp, from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, N.J.
