Early Music America, a Seattle-based organization serving the North American early-music community, has announced that MARIA COLDWELL, its executive director since 2002, will step down from that post in September 2012. An award-winning musicologist as well as an educator, concert presenter, Baroque flutist, and chorister, Coldwell has directed a decade of progress at EMA, including a fivefold increase in scholarships, several new educational and outreach grant programs, and significant growth in the size and circulation of the organization’s magazine, Early Music America
