A report Thursday (6/14) on MyFoxAtlanta.com states, “An Atlanta Falcons player is spending part of his off-season pursuing another passion. Justin Blalock of Falcons stepped in to conduct a 120-piece orchestra at Symphony Hall on Thursday. It was part of an annual ‘side by side’ concert event where the youth orchestra performed alongside the Atlanta Symphony. The concert marked the end of a four-day workshop where student musicians partner with symphony mentors. Blalock conducted 120 musicians in ‘Raiders March’ from the film Indiana Jones. He says that he is committed to bringing awareness to the benefits of music and sports in the lives of kids. Blalock played the tuba growing up and still plays drums and guitar. A fellow Falcon, running back Michael Turner, was in the audience to support his teammate. Proceeds from the event will support music education through the Justin Blalock Foundation.”
