Monday’s (6/18) Stamford Advocate (Connecticut) reports, “Undaunted by adversity, CityCenter Danbury responded to a glitch in bandshell reconstruction on the CityCenter Green by holding the Danbury Symphony Orchestra’s concert, ‘Classic Pops Under the Stars,’ Saturday on the rooftop of the nearby Patriots Garage. Nearly 400 people attended the 2012 season kickoff, giving CityCenter Executive Director Andrea Gartner assurance that this year’s season will be another success. ‘It’s encouraging to see the commitment people have to supporting downtown events,’ Gartner said Sunday. ‘And the sound was great up there under the stars.’ The bandshell collapsed in the surprise October snowstorm and has yet to be reconstructed. Gartner said she has been told the reconstruction project will have ‘shovels in the ground’ by Monday or Tuesday.”
